My desktop folders are gone.

My 12 yo daughter was watching Alvin/Chipmunks video on youtube, and she wanted to put a shortcut on my desktop. Well, not only whatever she did put over 100 Alvin Chipmunk shortcuts on my desktop, but it erased some of my desktop folders!!!! Any advice? Luba

Maybe not gone? Desktop only has room for so many icons. Eliminate Alvin to make some space available. Press the F5 key once in awhile to force refresh.
Last, go to video properties (right click desktop, select Properties) and lower your resolution, click apply, raise resolution back up to normal, click apply.
If Alvin is gone, or space has been made available, your other shortcuts should be back.
