9800 gx2...help please

Hey guys....brand new to this forum so excuse me if my lingo is not up to par. Just bought a 9800 gx2 expecting great performance in games such as crysis. However when playing crysis with cranked details at 1440x900, directx9, no aa, i only achieve an average of 30 fps. Very disappointing since the card set me back a good $600. Just wondering if any of you could shed some light on the issue. My specs are:

Asus m2n32 sli deluxe motherboard
EVGA 9800 gx2
2gb ddr2 800 memory
amd athlon 64 x2 5600 @ 3.00 ghz overclocked
coolermaster 750W real power powersuuply
Thermaltake CPU cooler

Running everything in win xp. Tried overclocking the card a bit but did nothing to my performance. I am thinking that either my processor or my ram might be holding back the graphics card. All latest drivers are installed...Any help????

Did you upgrade drivers? Or forget to plug in pcie power connectors?

Crysis at max details may be bottlenecked by your relatively slow cpu (in relation to Crysis). It may also be due to page file usage. Crysis at high details hot 2+gb of ram after a few hours of gameplay, and page file from hdd will lag the whole machine down.

Consider running 3dmark06 to get a more accurate feel for performance.

will do the 3dmark...is there anyway to decrease the page file usage or no??? Did upgrade all drivers, flashed bios etc...

You can disable page file in contral panel, system, performance settings, advanced settings. But you'd need enough ram first or it will run out of memory.
