    +1

It may be good to let us know what's most important to you. Quietness or Cooling? Ie, the Antec 900 is a great case for cooling but is rather noisy (and would make for a poor audio-editing rig, therefore). The Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 is an EXTREMELY quiet and cool rig, but is heavy and not cheap.

What are your priorities for an enclosure?

What's your budget? Heck you could just go with the Antec 900 and have really cool case with great airflow. ...might not be quiet though.

Well, from personal experience I can recommend the Cooler Master Cosmos 1000: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119147

Very quiet, so quiet that you truly do not hear dual 10K rpm Raptors in RAID 0 (it doesn't get too much noiser than that). I had to look at the LED to know the drives were active...but not cheap, and as I said above, not light.
  7. what about the cm690?
  8. Well, its popular lately. ...but I can't say why. Cooling? Noise reduction? Hopefully, someone will speak up.
  9. P80 Armoursuit, very quiet and has 10 slots so 3 two slot video cards will still leave you room to expand. Has 3 140mm fans in the front, 1 140 in the top of the case and one 120mm in the back. The 3 front and the top fan have a speed controller also.
  10. If you are doing 3 way SLI i assume your budget doesnt matter much.

Personally i would get a Silverstone TJ09 or 10 or the Lian Li A70/A71... both will give you great cool, they are both quiet and they are both massive for additional cards
  11. I'm using the A70 currently. ...its my favorite all-time case. I love it.
  12. I did notice that halcyon... can i brag and say ive got 2? haha
  13. Saaaweeeett!
  14. ye, but thats the problem ive only got like 100 - 150 for the case
  15. whats more important a good case or a good motherboard ? cause if I get an expencive mobo or case then I would have little money left for the other.
  16. I got my daughter a Cooler Master Centurian 5 and was quite happy with that but I'd say if cooling is really important to you you may wan to look at the Antec 900 or 300. Good cases and not expensive.

No contest in my book, a good motherboard is more important to me.
  18. ok thanks for your help, then again Im sorry if this doesnt fit here but since you replied to my other post too, whats a "very good" motherboard for you? any specific model you would recommend?
  19. Fry's electronics stores have the antec 900 for $69.99 with no rebate in today's ad. It's a steal.

Well, I'm an Asus fan, so taking that into consideration these are my recommendations:

  21. ok so Ive cut out on some stuff for my case.
Ive heared only good things about CM Stacker 830 normal/NVIDIA Edition and the CM Cosmos 1000. Whats better in your opinion ?
Any other nice ones at that price range ?
  22. Well, I've not use the CM Stacker 830...but if I were considering it I'd shy away from the nVidia Edition. Isn't that the one with the black and funky green? If so, you may get tired of that and that's not a cheap case.

I have had the Cosmos 1000. It's quite quiet and has reasonable cooling but the side panels can be a bytch. Too much $$ for such an issue IMO. So, I'd stay away from both of those choices.

Let's say you have a budget of $220US for a case. This is what I'd consider: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112069
(Lian-Li makes some simple but exquisite enclosures, IMO)

    or

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129043
(Whoooomp! There is is. Whoooomp! There it is.)

    or

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129025
(I read a lot of positive reviews on this one, but beware of the plastic side panel hooks that have been reported to break off)

  23. well it is the one thats black & green but I heared and read about lots of people that got the reg CM Stacker 830 over the Cosmos.
and I don't think I'm going to look at my case alot, I just want it cool and quite
  24. You should have a look at the Stacker 830 black and comment me back, i think its cool (in both ways) and its neat
  25. This looks nice too, especially for the price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119137

The stacker 830 series are pretty nice looking enclosures. For that $$ though I'd want more than 4x3.5" internal drive bays.
