hello guys, i just brought an Point of View GF 8800GT (normal version no OC) .. so i have a question concerning the temperatures..

on idle it's 50-52ºC
on full load 74-78ºC

it's that ok for 8800GT chips??

can someone who has GeForce 8800GT post here his temperatures?

thanks!!

Those temps are fine if your card is one of the single slot cooler variants, my Alpha Dogs ran similar temps until I replaced the standard coolers with VF900's.

You are fine; those aren't bad temps.

My temps were higher with two BFG reference cooled 8800GT OC's. They idled upper 50's and sometimes the top card got over 90 degrees on load if I didn't manually bump the fan speeds up. It was a constant battle of noise vs temps, so I pulled both coolers and put Zalman VF900CU's on them. Huge difference in temps and noise with them.

I have a Gigabyte 8800GT with Zalman cooler. It runs about 15 degrees cooler at idle and load than what you are stating. However, your temps are about average for reference desing 8800gt's.

You may want to crank up the fan speed while your playing if you think thats a little high. Before the HR-03 GT came out I would crank the fan up to 75% from its default setting of 29%. Of course I was overclocking, but if the temps concern you that much you might want to give it a try.

I am running an 8800gt 512 and overclocked the core to 640, shadersto 1700 and mem to 1100.. this thing screams.. I was originally leaning toward the 3870... I'm glad I didn't

I can play cod4 everything maxed at 1680X1050.....

You will be happy with this card.... oh back on topic, putting the fan speed using rvtnr and setting fan speed to 49 ( highest without being annoying)

idle temps are 51C and load temps are about 67C ambient temp is in the room is about 73F

Or use nTune. And the stock fan is too loud to keep the fan running that high at all times. Before I got the HR-03 GT I would manually adjust the fan and overclock settings to play games and set it back to defaults when I was done. Now that I have the cooler, i just flashed the over clocked settings to the card and let the HR-03 GT do its thing. With the zip tied 120mm fan it stays nice and cool and is uber silent. You have to play with it and see what is acceptable to you.
