I am trying to stay as close as I can to 350 with no rebates on a Sli 8800GT card,  So far this is as close I can get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150252

Anyone beat that has a cool frosty one waiting for them.

I am open to someone saying I not getting got the most bang for my buck and pointing out a more expensive card, just tell me why.

Thanks!

At stock, you can't beat that 8800gt for value. If you overclock, this may give better bang for the buck. 8800gts with dual slot cooler can reliably oc core to 750mhz, some have went as high as 800+mhz. OCed 8800gt outperform oced 8800gtx and stock or moderately oced 9800gtx.

Would you recommend getting one gts for now and waiting for the second?

I have also heard of http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814130336 when Oc'ed is even faster then the gts, I believe PC Gamer is the one who said it.

I think that the GTS is at EOL (End of Life) so they might be hard to find soon. Very good card and competes with the best of them so it is never a bad choice to get one.

So you think one gts would be enough?

The 320 mb is discontinued, the 640 would be close to EOL, but the 512 version just came out in novemeber 07.  I doubt the 512 is close to EOL

Yeah, and dollar's dropping against the pound by the minute. That's not a good deal.  :pt1cable:

As for the 1gb 8800gt, the 1gb ram will only become an advantage on very high resolutions. On most resolutions, performance should be identical.
