It should OC well. If you do that it'll be fine. Otherwise it will be a bit of a hindrance.

------------------------------ Phenom II X4 940 BE 3.0GHz - 1.25V > GA-MA790GP-DS4H > XFX ATI 4850 1GB > 4GB OCZ Platinum 1066MHz 5-5-5-15-2T > PCP&C 610W
Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz > GA-MA770T-UD3P > Sapphire ATI 4650 512MB DDR3 > 4GB OCZ Platinum 1600MHz@1066MHz > XP/Win7 Enter 64

The only bottleneck is your wallet. :D

Swap that psu out with a Corsair/Earthwatts 450W and you're good to go.

I just built a machine with that processor, and so far it doesn't seem to really affect performance. Also, that motherboard will allow some easy overclocking of it, which I'll be doing once I get all the monitoring software and benchmarking programs installed and configured.

If you do overclock, get a cooler (the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is a good choice). It's easy to install and is only $36.

Finally, think about the WD WD1600AAJS (160 GB Caviar SE). It's $50 at newegg, and has better performance (at least against the Samsung Spinpoint P HD160JJ - 160GB).

if you overclock then it can still fly just like the other system.also if you play games.the cpu today is not going to affect the performance that much as the GPU does most of the proccessing.

it should do well just come back to get help on overclocking.
