I am using Acronis disk director in an attempt to copy my OS (vista 64) to a new HD. I copied the partition to the new hd and made it active, but I am getting a boot error with the new drive. Is this because of the drive letters? How do I fix this?

Check the basics: is your new drive set as first in your BIOS' boot order? It's also possible that something went wrong with the copy, leaving you with a corrupted Vista installation on your hard disk.

I use Acronis TrueImage to clone the drive.
Works perfectly every time.
You can use a trial to do it.
