Yep can't see any problems with that your definitely getting what you pay for with those parts. Only thing I would say is to try and stretch for one of the new quad cores (Q9300 in your situation) but you do seem to be getting an incredibly good deal on the Q6600 which is still an excellent CPU.

What PSU were you thinking of?
The case that i picked has a 500W psu provided with it. a pretty reliable source has told me that it is also a pretty reliable psu and should handle my stuff without a problem.

lol and i didn't read on either before i posted this. Sorry about that.
The Sonata II comes with an Antec EarthWatts 500W PSU.
If you're not overclocking or anything like that it's a good choice.
Also, unless you really want a front panel firewire, or a RAID get the DS3L instead of the DS3R.
Im kinda a noob when it comes to motherboards. Got no idea about the RAID and firewire. If you wouldn't mind could you give me a brief descrition to help me out.
In an nutshell, RAID is setting up multiple hard drives to look like one. One of the main purposes of RAID is data protection (if one drive fails, a different one picks up automatically). For most users, RAID isn't necessary.
Firewire is used by some devices like USB, mostly cameras and the like. the DS3L does not have a firewire port. Then again, after looking at Gigabyte's website, either does the DS3R.
The DS3P or DS4 have FireWire, if that's important.
Upgrade the video card to 8800GTS 512MB. It's faster, not much more money these days, and it has a dual-slot cooler which pushes the heat directly out of the case. I like the Sonata 3, even have one at work, but I wouldn't want an 8800GT in it. The single-slot cooler on eVGA's 8800GT will leave the heat inside the case, and the Sonata is not exactly perfect to deal with that.
About RAID: read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID Then forget about it. With a single hard disk you won't do any kind of RAID. It's only worth it in some special cases, not very often.
Edit: actually, there's something else to think about when you pick a motherboard. Will you ever want to use 3 monitors? If yes, get a motherboard with two PCI-E x16 slots. The GA-P35-DS3P or GA-P35-DS4 or aBit IP35 Pro would be good.
