If i were u...I'll get a read only blu-ray due to the price difference..
cause for me HTPC usually is for blu-ray playback and would u really need the burner in the HTPC ? or u can just use a DVD burner for burning ?
I built a HTPC myself ...and I'm using the LG blur-ray drive read only
I counted 5 ripped BluRay title I rented last month. That alone would've made up the price for a Lite-On iHOS104 (BD-ROM, DVD-ROM, no burner) which is currently $60 on Egg.

I only say that because i want one wuzy. And $60 is a great deal for a blue ray.
Hey i just got two lite on blue rays for $89 dollars each, is that a bad deal? I bought them at Comp USA in Florida. It was one of the combo deals with the dvd writer also.
