I went with the Western Digital 1TB based largely on excellent NewEgg reviews. It was $99 with free shipping from NewEgg. I'm quite happy with it. It's quiet and fast. Only con might be that it runs about 1 deg C hotter than my other drives.

I would recommend the seagate barracuda 7200.11 1.5 tb drives. I just got my 5th and 6th of these drives yesterday and threw them in a RAID-1 NAS box. The only negative I have seen mentioned online has been drives freezing in a raid setup but these were firmware issues particular to certain manufacturing runs and have been solved with firmware updates. Out of 6 drives I have had zero problems, and the cost from newegg is $119.99 & free shipping. That is .08 cents a gig...!!! Awesome
