its running 2 Western Digital Raptor HDD on a Via 8237 controller in raid 0. What I dont understand, is that when I reboot, if I dont fully power off and on the computer, when the Via raid controller is detecting the drives, it says "failed to initiate device".
The computer has been running ok for over a year, the only addition is the 2 WD drives in Raid 0 - both drives check out fine with the long test using the WD test util.
I've read of others running these drives in raid 0 on the same controller without problems, and I have swapped out the sata calbes with brand new ones for each drive. The PC was running fine for about two weeks after installing these drives.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing this ?
