DMA of HDD shifts to PIo mode
i tried all the possible triks like ones of registry, and uninstalled ide dives from device manager
but despite all efforts ,my dma of hdd always remains to pio mode.actually its the second hdd(160gb sata) whos causing me trouble, also there is lag or my computer hangs at regular intervals for about 2-3 sec when i surf internet,
previosly i had

amd 3000+
rs 480m2
1gb ram
sata dvd rw
256 7600gs graphics card
400 w iball smsps
80 gb sata seagate barrcuda

i then upgraded my system to

intel core 2 duo e750
intel chipset p35
160 gb sata seagate barrcuda
80 gb sata seagate barrcuda
2gb ram ddr2
sata dvd rw
256 7600gs graphics card
400 w iball smsps

ever since i added 2nd hdd (160 gb ) it has caused me a lots of problem
i even formateed the drive, which thereafter shows dma on, but after i copy somthing it again get disable.
Could smps be the core of this problem, becoz i have changed everthing except that

Which version of Windows you're using? I used to have this problem with my HD but only on XP but not Vista (seems like because Vista is better at caching, the problem is still there). For me the problem turned out to be a dead power cable I changed it and restore my Windows from a backup (have to do it), np after that. BTW when I have this problem there's a bunch of event id 9 and 51 or 52 (I can't remember) in event viewer System node. And yes I have two SATA HDs, too.
