Can't get my printer to work

Hello,
My printer will not work. When I run a diagnostics test I'm told there is nothing to repair. if I click on the HP solution centre I get the message thee are no files. I tried to install the printer and my laptop gives me the message the files will harm my computer and the installation stops. Any ideas?

Are you installing from Printer CD or downloading from HP Site ?
Any other strange behaviour that might indicate your computer is infected ?
Any error reported in device manager for the printer ?
