ok, so im running a q6600 on a p35-ds3l and i can get it to 3.6 easy with 45c load temps. Needless to say i want to get it higher but the fsb is limiting me, as when i thy to boot at 415 fsb, no matter what multi, it has a hard time getting into windows.
My question is this, do i need to overvolt the fsb and the northbridge to get it to 425 fsb? What type of cooling should i have on the northbridge for this> ?
I would think a NB voltage increase is what you need. You can put it up to 1.35 or 1.4 no need for other cooling solution. Try that and you should be able to bump your FSB. Also boost the CPU Termination voltage (or CPU FSB voltage, they call it differently depending on your BIOS.) This can be boost to 1.4 as well without problem. Try that.
