The histories of scans in my Symantec anti-virus all say "scan omiss". If I rt. click & click "properties" I get the notice that "scan could not access Drive E:/. Is this important? I don't know what Drive E:/ is or what it is for.

Is Symantic set to scan all drives in the options menu. If so it will probably be your restore partition, or CD drive or card reader if you have one. All you need to do is just set your Anti virus to scan C:\ only which is your hard drive. If E:\ is your restore partition it cannot be accessed so you will get that message. If it is your CD drive and no disc is in you will also get a message.
