This is beginning attempt at OC core i7 920
Hardware being used
Antec 900 with 650 Antec Truepower 650
Core i7 920 Nehalem
Asus P6T Deluxe
Corsair Dominator 3x1GB DDR3 1600mhz Triple channel
8800gts 512
2x Raptor X 150's
Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme 1366 w/Artic silver 5
Asus 1003 Bios

Took some advice fromt Bit-tech.net OC guide for core i7 920
Ok here are the settings i changed and the Results so far...
1. AI overclock to manual
2. Intel Turbo Mode Disabled
3.BLCK Frequency - 190
4. Dram Freq - 1523 mhz (ddr 3 1600 mhz ram) 9-9-9-24
5. CPU voltage 1.350000
6. CPU PLL voltage 1.96V
7. QPI Dram voltage 1.35v
8. DRAM Bus Voltage 1.6v
9. Disabled Following= C1E Support, Intel Virtualization Tech, CPU TM function, A20m, Intel Speedstep, Intel C State Tech, CPU Spread Spectrum, and PCIE spread Spectrum.

Booted up FIne Temps:
Real temp 2.90= Idle 41,41,42,42 Load 68.69.67.68
Core Temp = Idle 38,39,42,41 Load 67,69,69,68

Have run Prime 95 with default Blend setting, CPU 100% with lots of ram for 4 hours, still stable, Core at 3800mhz Vcore 1.336
Mem at 1523 9-9-9-24 1T

How long should prime run to make sure it is stable etc?
Your questions/comments are welcome, Shark

if you have been running for 4 hours with no errors it's probably stable. some people run theirs over night just to be absolutely sure but prime95 can normaly spot issues well within the first hour. your cpu looks a little hot though. you should look up the recommended operating temperatures for the core i7 from intel.

I changed the qpi Dram to auto and cpu pll to auto, dropped the cpu voltage to 1.25v , ram is at 1.6v, clocked back to 3.6, basically everything on auto, BCLK on 180, Dram voltage 1.6 cpu volt to 1.25, temps gone down to 69,70,68,68 what ya think...

still toasty, i can keep my core 2 duo e8500 (OCed to 4.1GHz) below 55c after an hour of prime95. i did it by manually modifing my cheepo $30 case:
i started by placing a reasonably powerful 120mm fan in the back as my exaust fan. i plugged up all the side holes in the case. i then faced my heatsink fan to blow towards the exaust fan. i then created an intake hole by popping out an empty 5(or 6)inch expansion slot cover. cross ventilation, cold air comes in the front and cools ram/cpu, hot air comes out the back and warms my feet. i did it with a controller so if i think the cpu feels warm, turn a nob to the exaust and chill.

you should look at your case circulation and hope the core i7 likes the heat more than i think it does

am using an antec 900, I have 2 120 mm on front blowing in, 200mm on top exaust and 2 exaust on back 120mm, using thermalright ultra 120 extreme, couldnt use side fan on case wont fit, think it should be good, i lowered core voltage and after 2 1/2 hours doing prime95 was more like 63-67C

sharken. I have the same setup, except with an Antec 1200 and 6gb of dominator ram. I basically am using the same article from bit-tech, and am getting the same temps, 63-67. I upped the cpu voltage to 1.275 tho bkz I noticed some issues in programs I was using. Seems to have mostly fixed them, i notice some lag tho when Im stress testing and attempting to move Speedfan or CPUZ around the screen. Im probably gonna play with it more.

Nice, after reading all of bit tech, and realizing less voltage less temperature, figured would lower it much as i could without it crashing, So i just have 180-190 Bclk, vcore 1.25 and matched it qpi dram 1.25, DRAM 1.6v, Everything like speedstep etc disabled, seems great, temps down around 65c now at 3.6, think ill keep it here for now, thanks
