Looking to upgrade old geforce 5700 graphics card. Spotted ATI Radeon 2900gt for £48.17. Wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

Play the odd sports/driving game. I remember that the 2900 series weren't as good as the geforce 8800 series but for my needs was consdiering it, especially at this price. How would it compare to the 3650 or 3850 cards. Wouldn't really want to spend any more than this.

Any advice is welcome

2900gt performs on level with 1950gt or 1900gt. 3650 have almost similar performance to those ati gt's but much better choice. In fact you can grab a x1950xt/pro for lesser price on ebay, being a better deal.

Is that 2900xt a Pci-e card? i am sure that your 5700 is AGP, so you would need a new mobo too.
