I just put this (http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/250131-31-media-built-feedback-welcome) together inside a different case (Antec Fusion Black 430, with a 500W PSU instead of stock). The motherboard I chose has 4 pins for a speaker, but the case has nothing to put on these pins. So, I put in PSU, CPU, HSF, and turn on, and the machine doesn't enter post. No beeps. I can't tell if it's because the case had no speaker to plug into those 4 pins? (Although it does have front panel audio which is plugged into the mobo.) Or is it something wrong with CPU or mobo? Fans all go on just fine.

Did you use standoffs?
Did you plug the 4 pin Aux atx 12v power connector in the 4 pin connector by the CPU?
Is your PSU switched on and swithched to the right voltage for your country?
Check all the power connectors.
What are you using for graphics? Onboard?
Reset the Cmos via directions in your manual.

If all that fails try to assemble outside of the case to make sure its not a grounding issue.

Thanks roadrunner. I reset the CMOS and entered BIOS successfully. However, now with each restart, I do not not enter BIOS again unless I once again reset the CMOS.

So here's the sequence I fell into:
1 - reset cmos
2 - enter bios
3 - apply settings and change boot order to cdrom drive where disc os is
4 - save and exit. nothing happens.
5 - restart machine. nothing happens.
6 - goto step 1

Take out one stick of ram for now.
Boot with one stick of ram and get into bios.
Make sure ram voltage and timings arent on auto.
Set the Dram voltage and timings to the specs of the Gskill.

The specs are 1.9v but you might need 2.1v- 2.2v., especially for 4 gigs.

Are you using Vista or XP? I think there is a patch for more then 2 gigs for Vista.

It should boot up with one stick.

Im watching Nascar, I'll be checking back every commercial to see your progress. I'm not going to bed until your up and running.

If one stick dont work at 1.9- 2.2v your ram probably isn't compatible. Is your ram on the QVL?

You rock! I took out one memory stick and am able to boot up, entered BIOS, and am now installing Windows XP (will be upgrading to Vista later on).

The ram isn't on the verified list, but the list said "there are so many, many of them work but we didn't test them all". One stick is working for now.

Thank you!

Great!! Your welcome. Install all of windows updates and try to add your other stick. If it dont work you will probably need to bump it to 2.2v in the Bios.

You could try 2.1 before 2.2. The lower the better.
