OCing my Q6600

hi all, im having trouble OCing my Q6600, here are my specs:
- Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz
- MSI P7N Platinum mobo
- 2x2Gb RAM @ 800Mhz

whenever i try OCing my Q6600 through a program, the ram gets automatically OCed too, so i tried using the bios and manually enter the fsb and ram clocks, but my pc wont start

is there anyway to sync the ram 1:1, so i can OC my cpu

Use some decent ram? Try relaxing the timings on the Ram and see if that helps.

OC thru your bios. dont use OC software. Soft OCs dont work well.

in your bios, set all clocks manually. When you OC your FSB all clocks will OC. For example your PCIe will OC if set to auto. It should be manually to 100mhz.
