greeting, so there have to get a new HDD, I want to 1 Terra and are vague on which the choice :|

I found these 2 models: WD1002FBYS and HE103UJ (WD warranty to 5 years, 7 years from samsung): D I read here reviuri even as HE is very rapid WD I'm not interested.

I want to use HDD for storage of data or to run OS (Vista / Windows 7 x64)

My configuration is: Q6600 3,2 GHz, MSI P45 NEO2, 4GB DDR2 Kingston HyperX, 6* HDD (1 externel), 8500GT 512MB, Fortron BlueStorm 500W.

I like the samsung's Enterprise Class, 7 years warranty, I found the offer very good in the shop, price 97 EUR, But when I getting ready to buy it and I found that this WD is just too good in class, and are now in deadlock :(

So wath shood i chose?????????

Atto clearly tells Samsung's SpinPoint F1 is slow on small files which are so important to run an OS. Much slower than Hitachi's 7k1000.B and Seagate's 7200.12.

Remember capacity influences speed. Choose an Hdd capacity multiple of the maximum platter capacity: with 332GB maximum platter, choose a 320GB, 640GB or 1TB Hdd, not a 750GB nor 500GB.

Forget the 32MB and the SataII, they have no importance. But the Ncq is very important and its efficiency can't be told from specs. Atto (around 8kB) and IOMeter are better guidelines.
