hey guys for some reason windows only shows 2046mb of ram available when i have 4gigs (4x1024) anyone no y?
spec:

intel core 2 quad q6600 @3.0ghz
msi p6n diamond (X-FI sound)
4gig of OCZ
Nvidia 9800gx2 @ 720/1125
Lite-On Blue-ray
500gb x1
80gb x1
Antec 500 Earthwatt
Window vista ultimate 32bit
Ultimate 32-bit
22" lcd acer monitor
Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System

It's almost certainly the 32-bit Windows 4GB memory address limit combined with the hardware in your system, especially the 9800gx2, which may use up over 1GB of those addresses on its own.

You should see most or all of your memory under 64-bit Vista.

Try this:

 

Start=> Run=> "msconfig"
Go to "BOOT.INI" => "Advanced Options"
Un-check all boxes, hit "OK" and re-boot.

Vista thinks it needs half of your ram so it caches, takes what it thinks it needs, and leaves you the rest for the rest of your apps.
This is the advanced intelligence built into Vista.
