Hi all

I recently bought a Pentium 4 2.8GHZ/1M/533 CPU to install on an i845 mobo, but I can't make it work. Does anyone know if it is compatible? The mobo ID is

10/03/2001-i845-W83627HF-6A69VB09C

It has a 478B socket, and four PC133 memory slots. No DDR slots. So... am I already screwed or what? And if so, anybody cares to buy a brand new P4 2.8 GH??

I think the old PC133 supporting motherboards will only support the 400FSB chips. There's no way a 533FSB chip will run on it.

You'll have to check sites like ebay, and either get a different CPU, or a different motherboard - if you get a newer motherboard, you'll also need to get some DDR RAM, since a newer one won't support PC133.

1 meg cache? That's a prescott. No 845 mobo had the vrm to run that pig.
