Hi,

I decided to install my old copy of farcry to see that it doesn't install. I went on the web and read on several forums that a 64bit patch is needed. Later I read that this patch is only for xp64. Is there any patch for vista 64 and if so where can I find it?

The 64bit patch will work on Vista too. I just started up the game with the 64 bit executable to make sure. However, I installed the game in xp (as well as the patch which also works as a no cd crack), and just surfed for the game executable.

That's interesting. I ran Crysis on Vista 64bit without any patching. Just installed it and it ran like clockwork. Maybe newer retail sets have the patch included? :p

I dont have the 64bit version of farcry I have the 32bit version with a 64bit patch is that ok?

Opps, sorry, I'm such an airhead. You were talking about the older Far Cry, not Crysis. :na:

I installed farcry a couple months ago...

Not as good as I remember it...

hmm what should I do? All it says is "run setup32.exe on 32 bit windows, or run setup64.exe on 64 bit windows." WTF PLease helpP!

Look through the folder, is there a "setup64.exe?"

Install 32 bit version of Far Cry! Then install the patch. Then run 64 bit exectuable. Far Cry was not originally 64 bit :)

I dont think u guys understand it wont let me install. It jeeps saying over and over again is it using windows86.exe or windows64.exe

there's no problem!! Just copy file msvcr71.dll into directory windows/system32 Everything will working. Far Cry will work under windows Vista 64 bit

I just installed Far Cry and everything with all this and it worked:S thats weird:S.

Damn just noticed this was a long way dead:) Thats why I hate zombie threads;)

theres a amd 64 bit patch and whats wierd with mine is ive installed the 32 bit normal version and the 64 bit version but only 32bit works and on the 64bit all the scenery is white and doesnt really work

so try the 32 bit

btw im running vista 64 bit

I think the farcry 64bit patch was xp 64bit only, not 100% but i would be shocked if it worked on vista 64
back in the days of the AMD first got the 64cpus..
