Why can i not delete title on my cd-rw

Hello,
On the old-fashioned floppies, I could word process, write, re-write,erase and use again. However now, with the CD-R, or CD-RW I can not do this. Why? What am I doing wrong? They will not erase. I am using an IBM clone.

CD-R disks can be written to once, and once only. With a CD-RW you can erase the disk as a whole. But neither act like a floppy (not quite true - if you format a CD-RW with a special format called UDF you can erase individual files, but I don't think XP supports UDF without further software).

You will need special software to mount the CD-RW as a file system that will make it behave like a floppy basically. ijack mensioned it, that software should be included on the disks that came with your disk drive. You may be able to download some version of it off the web if you don't have those disks.

Note that once you do that, any PC that will need to read that CD-RW will also need that program installed on it.
