I'm looking at the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe WiFi and I have a question about the on-board wireless. I can't tell if it is designed to work like a router or adapter or both. Can anybody say for sure? I've never gotten a board with native WiFi before.

I think I will get this board regardless but I'd like to know for sure. My house is WiFi enabled for all the family's PCs so even though this board costs $300 if it works like a router then it's absorbing that cost (very pricey if it really performs @ n). Even it only works like a wireless adapter that's still a $50 "savings"... seems worth it to me.

It is not a router.. it is rather designed to receive signals from routers so you never have this messy cabling at home.
Though some tweaking you can make it as a router but that is not recommended since it was not designed for that.

Suggested router:
3com or Belkin they are highly reliable.

Your going to get the board regardless, I say enjoy.

By the way if your are looking at wireless equipment I say buy Linksys, I would have saved lots of money if I had done that from the beginning.
