would that a StealthXstream 500w be enough for this build?? Im not going to do any Sli'ing and any big overclocking. would this be ok OR should i get a Thermaltake 500w??

I know it sucks to pay a lot for a power supply but it does make a difference in the performance. If you use just enough power now it will likely fail later on anyway.

400 watts my rear end. The total draw from a 512Mb 8800GTS is 250 watts under load.

I have no idea why people *cough*Cisco and JeanLuc*cough* think you need anything more then a 500W PSU (as long as it is from a good brand) for a "normal" PC.

I have my PC (M2N-SLI Deluxe, X2 6000+, 2x 8800 GT in SLI, 3 HDD which one of is a Raptor, 4GB PC-6400 CL4 RAM, 2x DVD and SB Fatal1ty Gamer soundcard) running on a Corsair 520W PSU.

Now to answer your question, it should do fine.

500W is definitely fine. Your total power consumption should be somewhere around 250W peak without OC.
