Spin up /access time

My LG sata drive takes 11 seconds (it's driving me crazy when I need to switch discs often) to access a disc from the time the door is closed to the time it shows up on screen.
I'd like to be able to half that time..Can someone recommend what I need to buy or do?

What drive has a fast access time..?
Can't these companies make them access faster?

Which LG model is it?
The last time I heard something taking this long was a couple of years ago with an ASUS DVD burner (can't remember model now).

Is 11s really that annoying?
I hardly use the optical drive now, not even for OS installs as that's done through USB. If it's just for loading games, go to gamecopyworld and use no-cd patch.

Yeah, 11 seconds is a lot of time when you need to burn many things or you need to move a lot of data. I need a faster accessing drive. Wierd how everything advanced but burners are the same. yes, they make combo drives blu-ray and HD but access speed is a real pain in the ass.
any help appreciated..
