I am looking at gettng a couple new tv's for my house and I was
considering the Sony. What is FDTV and how big of a difference in
picture is there between it and a HDTV? Is the resolution any worse,
better or the same? I went to Best Buy and Circuit City and no one
there could give me an explanation in "English". I know a little about
technology, but this HD/ED/FDTV stuff has me lost.

I think FDTV might be "Full Definition Television" and is 480i or up to
that, i.e., up to DVD-quality SD, not HDTV.

I don't know what FDTV is. Sony's website gets no hits on a search for FDTV.
