Hi,
I just want to buy a Q6600,but I wonder if there is a safe way to know if it is a G0 steping or B3, just from package.
As I have heared the G0 is the better overclocker. Please help.

I heard that if you stroke it in a certain way you can feel it in your heart. :o

JK, I doubt it but have no real idea.

Look for "SLACR" at the end of the product code (Under the first Barcode):

I'd feel more confident looking directly to the CPU through the small plastic window in the box and looking for SLACR.

I don't trust those retailers at all.

I understand your distrust but the sticker is put on by Intel themselves and unless the retailers are really good at repackaging the CPUs I doubt it would be a B3 with a G0 Code on it.
