i'm new at choosing comp parts so i need some advice what is a good socket 939 CPU for gaming.

None. Socket 939 is dead. Need to be looking at either Intel's Socket 775 or AMD's AM2/AM2+. As of right now, the Intel e8400 is the best gaming CPU for the money.

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego for £30 nowadays, if you really wan to stay 939. Blimey that went almost as quick as 754...long live my mighty 754 :'(
