I want to buy 2 modules -
1)- 2GB 800mhz patriot
2)- 1GB 800mhz patriot
If i install them on diffrent channel on my MB(ABIT IP35P INTEL P35 FSB1333 DDR2 1066) will they work in dual channel even if their capacity isn't the same??
I read in wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dual-channel_architecture) that it can work...
Can you please advise me?

thanks

In UK 2GB+ 1GB (£34+26) costs more than 2x2GB (£59)for corsair memory.

I'm about 80% sure on this, yes it will work.  (but only with Intel system, I think AMD systems need equal ram amounts.)

I agree with Ainarssems, get 2x2GB.  If you are looking to save money, post what you want to get.  There are probably other ways to save money then buying odd ram amounts.

320GB 16MB SATA II 7200 AAKS WD

You should get memory as a set of 4GB (2x2GB). It will be cheaper than 2 single 2GB sticks and also guaranteed to work correctly together. Like I mentioned earlier 2GB stick of the same  corsair memory here is £34 and 2x2GB set is £59 so it is £21 cheaper to buy as a set then 2 separate.

and get the 8800gt. 8800gt performance really isn't far from gts. you can cover most of the gap by o.c.  that should save you enough money to cover the ram.

Uri, you're forgetting a decent power supply.  Any "free" power supply that comes with the case will just cause problems, and may damage your MB or other components.  Since your budget is very limited, this should get you by: ($30 after rebate) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817371006

Also, IMHO you're overspending on the CPU: get the e7200 instead and save about 1/3.  It overclocks really well.

Your MB choice is inexpensive, but may have some problems, especially with overclocking the FSB.  I'd go with a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L or better yet the GA-EP35-DS3R, which has more robust power circuitry.

If you need to save more money, don't spend over $200 on an 8800GTS 512MB, but rather get an 8800GT 512MB for $140 after rebate: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814150280
