I have a $200 budget and I need a video card. I plan on using blender, 3ds max, photoshop, c4d, etc. I don't really game (xbox 360 ftw). What should I get, best performance for the money.

if u want perfomance, get nvidia. image quality, ati. ati is juz best for GAMES n editing video. its worst on 3D APPLICATIONS. my suggestion: nvidia 9600gt (but if u want to get workstation gc its better)

True. Most Canopus Video Editing Boards use a old "dubbed" MX-400. Rendering/Editing Video on the fly didnt suffer any changes , using the canopus MX-400, a 9600GT, or a Ati 1650. For video Editing its: CPU/Ram Stability + Raid 0.

For 3D aps, ussually recomenda a Ati with loads of RAM.Better image quality Imho, and loads of memory depending on what textures, or what you gonna do. Just make sure you buy a GPU with loads of ram. The GPU it self isnt important.
