I have a 1TB Maxtor Central Axis - on start up the disk blinks 1 white and 3 red. Per seagates website, it is a bad boot partition and the only option is to replace the drive. Data recover is not covered under warranty, and they are quoting $1700 for recovery. Is there any other options available??

You have to find out what kind of hard disk is within the Central Axis, and how to remove it from the old case. If it's a standard hard drive, you can place it into a USB enclosure, and see if you can access the drive this way. Get searching, and good luck!
