I have a seagate ST3802110a 80gb with 3 partitions. Recently 2 of the partitions went missing(just like that when I restarted). I am only able to see my os partition. I found some time to reinstall my os (it badly had to be replaced anyway) but I still am able to see only my C drive. I also had it checked in another computer and i am still able to see only 1 drive of 45 gb. I checked out the drive config (my computer > manage) and this particular hard disk is not showing up at all! But I am able to see it under device manager. I had a few important stuff on the other partitions. Is there any way to fix this? This is pretty urgent. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I had once a broken hard drive, and alot files were on it. The OS wouldnt start up because of the bad sectors. But I putted a pirated vista dvd in pc, and at the start of the installation you can open notepad with the vista dvd. so i was able to see all my files when i klicked on ''file > open'' in notepad. so with 2 notepad at once open, i could drag all my files to my usb and then replace the hard drive.
but you seem not to see the other partitions, did you delete the current parition?
Finally after a couple of restarts, the hdd was detected in disk management but was listed "offline". I turned it online only to find the remaining space to be as a raw partition. I'm now using a s/w to recover data from the lost partitions. Sure is a messy job!
