Graphics cards for computers

I just bought a dell 8500 i7 ivy bridge 16 gig ram 460 w cpu I want to put the best card I can in I am only using it for chief architects home designer professional 2014 gtx660ti calls for min 450 w gtx670 500w min will the cad program max out the card or can I go even higher to gtx680.

quality PSU is cheap compared to GPU price..

so upgrading to XFX 750 silver certified for 80-100ish bucks seems better and then you have much more room to upgrade GPU :)

no real gain getting a gtx680 over a 670

may be better to look at an an amd 7970

if your program can utilise the compute power of the graphics card then the amd card will slaughter the


the newer nvidia cards although great at games and more power efficient have sacrificed compute power

for example my overclocked gtx570 runs about 35,000 per second in elcomsoft

my amd 7970 runs 130,000 per second
