Drop the PSU. That PSU is cr@p. I recommend a Corsair 450VX/550VX/520HX or PP&C610 for your build.

Go with 4GB since you have Vista x64. If not doing SLI consider a P35-DS3x or a P35-P5K-x.

^ As he said...also.. get the 8800GT for $159 at tigerdirect.com... its more powerful than the 9600.

Ok where do I start? Your power supply choice is bad 550 watts is fine just a better tier.

If you are going to SLI the 650i mite let you down if not going SLI try a P 35 or 38 mother board or a P45 or 48 if you can swing the cost

The 64 bit OS is nice on high-end systems <and here we go> BUT a 32 bit will be just fine until OS 7 comes out in a few years.

You would get a better performance from a better graphic card then two
more gigs of ram maybe an 8800gt or an 8800gts

The Q6600 is a great CPU if you get the GO step but a nice 8400 wolf dale will cost the same or less and outperforms the Q6600 in most games plus a higher energy efficiency that will save you a tone on operating expenses

The hard drive …most will say go for the 7200.11 I just look for seek times as well as how many platters it has fewer the better.

PS on SLI if you can afford two lower end GPUs a single higher end one will out perform them i.e. two 9600 vs. one 9800gtx .

I agree with the above posters on Graphics and HDD (7200.11). If gaming go for the E8400. If video editing, etc go for the Q6600.

Like they said.
The P35 DS3L is hard to knock since it can be had for so cheap a bargain basement champion at 90 bucks.

Dear, Deathrage4life

We at Tom’s Hardware are a bit concerned it has been awhile since you last posted and I noticed your scripts were a little green. The feedback to your blog has been mostly positive with very strong ideas. Hope all is going well with your build and this post finds you in good health.
