First Time Building, Need suggestions, ($1500 Budget)

Building my first computer and was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions, my budget has to be around $1500, and must include everything cuz iv always used a notebook. it would be used mostly for gaming and editing.

would most apreachate your feed back.

That is really broad. Do you want us to basically pick out all the parts for your computer, or have you already done some research? If you have and/or haven't looked into it, then post what you are thinking so that we can make suggestions on cheaper and better components.

A few things to start out with are:
CPU: AMD or Intel
^planning on overclocking?
GPU: ATI or nVidia?
PSU: check this link: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103
Memory: How much
HDD: How much
Case: personal preference, but Antec makes good ones.

Put forth some effort and generally people on here will put forth just as much.

EDIT: I just re-read that last sentence and realized that I could have come off as rude. I'm not trying to be, but you just didn't post any of your ideas so I assumed that you haven't given it much thought. Sorry if I am wrong.
