Ultimate cluster size for speed?

I just got the new 2TB Western Digital RE4-GP. I'll store a whole lot of Flac music (files can often be 40 megabytes per song) and 1080p movies. In this case, would my best choice be 64 kb clusters, or can I do better?

Would you do anything special prior to using one of these? Check it for errors with something? Format it in a special way?

I can't wait to spin it up! I'm running Windows 7, fwiw.

In your case, the largest cluster size that you can select.
  2. Yep, largest available which for NTFS is 64KByte as mentioned.
I use it myself to store mainly 720/1080p stuff as well.
