I bought this crappy ass 8600GT video card from newegg; the fan is horrible run at max speed all the time. I was going to get a new video card but I changed my mind I want to get better cooling for it, I want the noise level to be REALLY low. Can someone recommend please.

Found this on newegg not sure if its good or not.

Very expensive.  Any chance you can sell that card to a noob friend?  (or return it.)  Add the $50-$75 to the $40 you were going to spend to get the cooler, and you've got ~$100 for a new video card.  A couple of options now exist.

3850, 512MBs of Vram, $118 counting shipping and (very large) MIR.  If the MIR is to big, you can get this one.

If for some reason you are bound and determined to stick with Nvidia, then you could get this.

All three of these cards would be faster then your "crappy ass" 8600GT.  None of them should have issues running games, other then Crysis ofcourse.  Not sure about the noise levels, is noise a bigger issue then performance?

The passive heat sink you chose is very good for a passive cooler and obviously quiet. If you have adequate cooling in your computer the passive coolers work quite well. They like to have some kind of air movement running across them. I went with Asus 9600GT Silent because I have very good air movement in my case.

Tried that already it doesn't work, I believe because its two pin connector. I got the card for like 70 bucks after rebate and I can't believe I have to spend 50% for a damn cooler. I am not a hardcore gamer, I don't do lotta games I can live with poor performance but not this damn noise. Thanks
