CPU Not Supported!?

hi today just bought my cpu core 2 duo e4600..i installed it and turn my pc on and i got system error"cpu not supported" i check my motherboard specs http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00910113&lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&product=3377251
it says 800/433 fsb and supports e4*00 core 2 duo!!! and i still get cpu not supported??wth is it bios?

Maybe you need a bios update for the mobo to support the e4600.

Also try setting everything on the bios manually instead of setting it at auto (assuming you can get into the bios).

Anyway check your mobo manufacturer webpage.

When I installed the e4700 I got a bunch of beeping at bootup and then a screen that said "CPU NOT SUPPORTED" then the system shut off.
I updated the BIOS and tried again with the same results. When I e-mailed tech support they said the e4300 was the only CPU of the Core 2 Duo series supported by that motherboard but their website says "Core 2 Duo E4x00 with Dual Core technologiy (Conroe core) supported"
First off it says 4x00 and not just Core 2 Duo e4300, next it says Conroe core but the e4300 and the entire 4x00 series are Allendale cores and not Conroe, Allendale is 800MHz frontside bus where Conroe is 1066MHz frontside bus.

Man, is that misleading.
