Need help with first rig build

Hello everyone,

I am a avid gamer who has been slowly converting from a console gamer to more of a pc gamer. So with this change I have began crafting my 1st gaming build for a mid-range rig within the price range of 1200-1300 bucks. While I would love to spend a lot less, I want to get the most bang for my buck as well as a system that can run the most recent games at high/ultra settings effectively. So please give me some suggestions on how I may cut down on some cost or trade parts in order to better performance or get the most out of this set up.

* COOLER MASTER HAF 932 Advanced RC-932-KKN5-GP Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case ~ $160
- I really love the features of this case but the lack of dust filters and the price makes me want to get different case for a better price. (Also fan of NSXR Phantom full tower or the Thor) Thoughts?

* ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard~ $140

* CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin 1600 ~$48

* Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) ~ $230

* COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO~ $34

* SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ 250gb~ $190

* SAPPHIRE Vapor-X 100352VXSR Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 (if I can find one for the right price and not $60 more) ~$340
-- If not I will be getting the next best 7950 that is around that 300-340 range. (i.e ASUS HD7950-DC2-3GD5-V2 Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5)

Total: $1,1655.93 (with savings on newegg) + $23 shipping

(This is my first build so I would just like some constructive criticism on the build before I fully commit)

More about need build
  1. I would get a msi mpower board (same price roughly)

    Thank you for taking your time to look at my build but could you give me reasons why I would consider this board instead of the one I currently have listed? I guess main what gains or difference this could would usher in?
