I searched a little for such issue but didint get much help.

So i built a computer, first time of course. When i turn it on, EVERYthing turns on, all the fans, all the LEDS BUT the monitor stays blank with an ORANGE light. No beeps or anything at all.
That i assume means it not getting any signal from the VGA? But the fan on the VGA is working...
The power supply is set to 115V which i suppose is the default. Just thought that perhaps something is not getting enough power. But i didnt touch that.

Here are the specs:

MOTHERBARD:
Intel BOXD975XBX2KR LGA 775 Intel 975X ATX Intel

PROCESSOR:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 65W
RAM:
Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz

VGA:
EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI

HARDDRIVE:
Western Digital 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

POWERSUPPLY:
Coolmax / 550-Watt / ATX / 120mm Fan / 20/24-Pin

CASE:
COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 RC-534-KKN2-GP SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower

I've checked the compatibility btw the components, so that should not be the problem. So would someone be so kind and help out a lame person...

i tried disconnecting for a day. Same result. Tried with two different monitors, same thing. It will be little wait before i can find another card.
Right now i have the old monitor so I am using the adapter that comes with the VGA card, still that should not be the issue, right?

Btw, if it is not too much to ask, do you have any of your work in photoshop uploaded?

^^^ STRKR hit the nail on the head. That board only supports up to 1066 FSB. Wow thats alot of money for a crappy board.

I dont know what features you need for sure, but a $50-$100 board should suffice just fine. Next time check to make sure it supports your CPU.

beautiful...so much for my compatibility check. I did check for that but i missed the FSB thing i guess. This board had really good reviews on newegg, thats all i could go by.
So if it is not a good board should i replace that now that i have to. If so which one should i replace it with? Anything under $200. Or if its not all that bad, its easier to replace the processor. These two are what i think would do.
