Hello,
Can a Windows 7 user communicate via email with an Outlook Express user who's using XP? Other than via hot mail or Messenger?

You can definitely do this. The email client you are using is pretty much irrelevant once your email leaves your PC.

Email programs are designed to send and receive mail a standard format so that it doesn't matter which exact client you are using.
