Is the black pci express slot on the asus rampage formula ok to use for sound cards besides the supreme fx 2 riser card that comes with the ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA motherboard.

I want to plug a xfi titanium fatalty pro pci express card in there but the motherboard manual says it is specific for the riser card. I cant find anywhere if this can also be used as a "normal" slot. What did they do to the slot to make it compatible with the riser? Anyone know because I cant find info anywhere. Much thx
