Hello everyone, I'm looking at purchasing new speakers for my gaming computer. My current speakers only pushes sound through the right one, has no subwoofer, and no dials for bass, treble, or even headphone jacks.

I've never had a subwoofer in my entire 10 years of gaming and I'm told it makes a huge difference with music / and games. Anyway, what do you guys recommend for a decent sound system? I'm looking for something within the 20-60$ range. It doesn't have to be anything super fancy, but good enough to really let me experience quality sound.

I had these two in mind:

or

ANY advice is really appreciated as I'm clueless on what makes a good set of speakers, worth the money.

I'd take a look at these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6836121123

They're within your budget, even after tax. Has great reviews, and the specifications look very good for the price. >96db signal - noise ratio is very good. Unless it's a type and it's supposed to be 69db, which would fall more in line with it price. Regardless it has good reviews.

Good cheap brands generally are Altec Lansing, Creative, Logitech, and believe it or not, Dell. I have a set of 2.1 Dell speakers, and they have very good sound, and go reasonably loud.

I also have a set of 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers, and they are quite good. At the time they were $100 bucks, and probably the best set of speakers in that price range. And they are quite loud, and decent sound. Although not as good as the Dell's. However due to their age the Altec Lansing speakers have degraded a little in performance.

i agree, the speakers lucuis mentioned are good quality for their price range...

i really take sound into heavy consideration when im playing games...so if its possible you try to get some 5.1 speakers.

i have the logitech z5300 myself, i coudlnt' find a link for the z5300, but you could always go for the higher z-5500 model :) 500+ watts of power.

honestly, the only reason y i put these speakers up is because once you hear surround sound in your gaming, it is soooooooo much better than a 2.1 system, you should really invest in it, if possible :) good luck.
