Hi

Question - Why isn't my CPU registering at 2.4Ghz at all??

Nb - I've done quite a bit of research but can't find anything to help.....

CPU-z is showing me that im currently at 1.6Ghz with Multiplier of 6

Initially i thought it was due to Speedstep...so...i ran Prime95 for all 4 cores....
I also seperately played games to see effects on speed i.e. Crysis and Bioshock

The speed went up to only 1.8Ghz with multiplier of 7 with both Prime95 and the games.....

Why isn't the speed reaching the stock 2.4Ghz at all???

Do i have to go and change the multiplier in the BIOS myself or is there something more sinister going on??

I read the above threads as well...but not sure if its due to Speedstep...

I checked in the BIOS and it says that mutiplier is at 7....

Im new to the BIOS...so was wondering whether i should change it to 9 manually?

Cheers Roadrunner...

And SKittle....im not sure how to insert the screenshot into this forum thread...but im pretty sure that its due to the incorrect multiplier...

Will change it now and see....
