Just a note that if you really want maximum reliability and stability in both the MB and drivers, you'll have to go with an Intel-chipset-based MB. You'll lose SLI ability, but since new, more-powerful single-card graphics solutions come out very frequently, that shouldn't affect performance. Also, there's really no benefit now of going with DDR3.

Seriously, a 512MB Video Card will do well even at 1920*1200 and in some cases 2560*1600. SLi is really not needed, if you want performance, look at the GTX280 soon to be released. I really think today's card are bottle necked by memory capacity.
