I'm looking to buy a PC that is capable of running all games maxed out (with exceptions to Crysis - but I would like it playable :D)

I've had a go but I'm not sure what it's like etc.

Anyway this is what I came up with:

Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
(£35.24)

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 LGA775 'Yorkfield' 2.50GHz 6MB-cache (1333FSB) Processor - Retail
(£184.46)

Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
(£70.49)

Logitech G11 Gaming-Grade Illuminated Keyboard - Retail (967929-0120)
(£38.76)

Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse - Retail
(£27.01)

Samsung SM-2232BW Pebble 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Glossy Black
(£223.24)

What would be the best graphics card for me to get with this screen resolution? (1680x1050)
What mobo would go best with this setup as I am looking for something that I can use in the future, perhaps for SLi but not essentially for that?
What PSU would I need to run this, and also I want to be ale to be used in the future, say if I add another card a later date?

Or can anyone build me a good system for me, my price range is about £1200, about $2400 but I would prefer not to spend the whole amount.

Thanks in advance :)

G92 8800gts can run all games 60+ fps, except Crysis, but should still run at a playable 35+fps at high settings. Get 2 in sli or 9800gx2 if you want more performance and have the cash.

Motherboard choice depends on if you want sli or overclocking. Nvidia chipsets(780/790i) support, while Intel chipsets(p35/x38) do not. X38 and some p35 boards support crossfire. 780i and p35 chipset motherboards run at 1333mhz fsb natively, and reliably oc to 1600mhz. X38/48 run at 1600mhz fsb natively, and reliably oc to 2000mhz. 1600mhz fsb = 3.0ghz for Q9300.

------------------------------ Q6600@3.6ghz, GA-EX38-DS4 motherboard, 8gb 800mhz ddr2 4-3-3-12, 8800GTS(g92)@780mhz, 1TB + 1.5TB hdds, 850watt psu

coo, thanks for the info on mobo's - i will take a look into them. How much of a performance increase will there be (roughly) with SLi'ing 2 GTS' (G92)? And Can I still overclock my CPU with the 780i board?

Not sure how much better sli is, there should be benchmarks out there. Google it. 780i should carry you to at least 3.0ghz at 1600mhz fsb on Q9300, likely more, if you're lucky and do things right.

what about 2 8800 GT's in SLi, i've looked at some benchmarks and it performs quite well at the 22" resolution.
