I'm looking to upgrade my video card but ran into a problem. My system uses DDR1-DIMM while the card I'd like to purchase uses DDR2. Is it still possible to use the new card or is the card RAM simply to important to the system RAM? I'm not the most knowledgeable person so a quick explanation would be incredibly useful.
I looked for similar topics but I didn't notice any, my apologies if one exists.

The system ram and the video ram are two different things. DDR2 ram will not work in your computer, buy the way. Also, video card ram starts with a G, thus the card you're looking at would have GDDR2 ram. Based upon your question, I'd guess that you don't know a lot about computers. You might have either an AGP based video card or a PCIe card. I'd suggest that you figure that out before trying to buy a new card. If you can't tell which it is and don't know anyone who can look at your computer and figure it out, you might take it to a computer shop and ask.
