Hello all,

This is my first time posting on this forum, I have a strange problem. I just installed windows xp on a dell dimension 2400 I received. Everything seems fine but my keyboard is not working. It works in my BIOS and in regular DOS mode but not once windows XP is running.

The keyboard is a VERY basic ps/2 101/102 keyboard, nothing fancy at all so I dont believe it requires any special drivers. I tried reinstalling my BIOS and it still didnt work.

This same keyboard works fine on my other XP computer.

Lastly, in Device Manager there is no keyboard listed with all the other devices.

Can anyone help me with this issue? My apologies if this is the wrong forum for this type of question.

Thank you,

Brian

Hi Brian

There is a small fuse on the motherboard which seems to have blown...

It is usually a green sausage looking fuse ( obviously it is going to be a small one about half a centimetre on the board )

Heres an option for you...

Go and get a USB mouse and keyboard and use that instead, its cheaper and its less agrovation all round

All the best
